It’s here. Do check it out. ;)

This blog would be dead as soon as I figure out how to redirect it. Shouldn’t be that hard right? :P

Why DO I blog?

There was a time when I chose to seek fame through blogging. Fame and blogs don’t seem like things that would actually go together. In fact, they’re the worst combination ever, but well-known celebrity bloggers like Kenny, Xia Xue and several other icons, so to speak, are all testaments of talent meeting opportunity. Write an excellent article and the next thing you know, you’re surrounded by girls (or even guys, whatever floats your boat), getting invites to exclusive events, endorsing products and living the life. If there IS a life.

I had my fair share of fame. It was not a big deal, but well, people talked about it. I joined a competition and won. Next thing I knew, I was known among the bloggers in Kuching as “the guy who wrote about Pizza Junction”. My stats were at an all time high. Receiving up to 20-25 comments for each post. I was on a roll. For a second, I thought this would grow to be something bigger, but as it turns out, it was my peak. As they say, what goes up, must come down.

The rest, is history. I got bored, then I denied all public access to my blog, shutting it down for good. But I decided to give blogging a second chance. I started this blog, but still, I found it hard to maintain. I had no motivation.

It was then, a friend of mine made me realize that I threw away something that was, in essence, a large part of me. It was the thing that kept me rooted all this while. Not blogging, but expressing myself. Releasing all the hidden thoughts that would not come out in simple conversations.

He said that I was the best blogger in Kuching. He also said I knew how to write and that was a quality not many has been blessed with. I did write about his Laser Tag Battle Station in one of my older posts (speaking of which, I’ll write about his new go-kart place soon) but still, I was amused. I also found that very funny because compared to all the other bloggers, who am I? I can barely compete in terms of the daily visitor count. Then again, it’s never about the number of visitors is it?

Here I am again, typing an entry, one word at a time. Trying to keep myself rooted.

Staying in control.

Mr. Calvin, if you’re reading this, I thank you for those words.

Of Jewellery and Sexy Models.

I have to admit, of all the events that I have attended this year, Minex Jewellery’s 100% Jewellery Trade-In Program Launch was probably the best one I’ve been to so far (read: less than impressive social life). It may not be the Oscars, but it was undeniably different. Perhaps it was that sense of luxury when I first entered the ballroom, perhaps it was the perfect models parading in the ballroom, or perhaps it was because everything seemed extra personal when Minex Jewellery’s own leading man gathered with us after the event for a little private Q&A session.

Whatever it was, the launching ceremony was interesting to say the least.

The event slowly started off with a simple jewelry display by several models, who were nothing less than gorgeous. A brief introduction of Minex Jewellery by Silas followed the display, then Minex Jewelllery’s owner, Benjamin, went up on stage and gave a short presentation on the trade-in program.

Now, the whole point of this event was to introduce Minex Jewellery’s newest marketing strategy – the 100% Jewellery Trade-In Program. This program allows Minex Jewellery’s customers to trade in their jewellery without sacrificing the original value of the product. This program, also known as the Minex Advantage, has no time limit, as well as no minimum upgrade value. This allows for a more flexible plan for the customers, who no longer have to pay a large sum of money to obtain the jewellery that they wish to acquire.

Just trade it in, add on a certain amount of money, and upgrade your jewellery. It’s as simple as that.

After the short presentation, the attendees were presented with another jewellery showcase featuring more stunning models.

Warning for users with slow connection: Photo dump ahead!

The end of the showcase also marked the end of the launching ceremony. Shortly after the ceremony was over, we were invited over to Senso for a private Q&A session with Benjamin. The Q&A session itself was interesting too, considering that many intriguing facts regarding the company and its establishment, as well as facts about the industry itself were revealed during the session.

Undoubtedly, Minex Jewellery will grab the attention of the public with this new program. News regarding the program will definitely spread to even more people by word of mouth. After all, news does travel fast, especially in a small town like Kuching. So, help spread the word around.

Who knows, you would help someone obtain his or her first 1-carat diamond!
